Merlion Park The Merlion, half lion and half fish, was created as a symbol of the country. AS the official emblem of the Singapore Tourist Promotion Board, it is found on souvenirs. The Merlion is an eight –metre tall white sculpture spouting water in the Merlion Park at the Mouth of Singapore River. On September 15, 2002, Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew officially opened the new Merlion Park and inaugurated the restored Merlion at its new home.
