Mukdahan
Mukdahan is a peaceful province located on the bank of the Mekong River, opposite Sawannakhet in Laos. Standing on the river bank near the Indochinese market in front of the city of Mukdahan, one can imagine how far this river travels. Mukdahan has a saying "Beautiful city on the Mekong's bank, sweet tamarind, origin of Phaya River, splendid mountains, valuable ancient drums, eight-tribe cultures, picturesque Manorom Mount, and beautiful Kra Bao lslet". Sakhon Nakhon is well-known amongst Thais for its association with two of the counry's most famous Buddhist monks. Sakon Nakhon is 647 kilometers from Bangkok and has an area of 9,605 square kilometers. The province is also home to Phra That Choeng Chum Sanctuary, Nong Han, Thailand's largest fresh-water natural lake, and culture of Phu Thai tribe.
